NYC summer 2010

If you remember my post from January, when we flew to Orlando, you remember the flight(s) were absolutely horrible. There was screaming and crying (from both Kohen and me) and it just was NOT a pleasant experience. Well, this time it was different. Mom and I worried ourselves sick for nothing. Well, almost nothing. Kohen was horrible IN the airport...but once on the plane he was great. I couldn't have asked for anything more from him. I had bought a ton of "airplane" toys before the trip and I have to say that I know my child well and what type of toys he loves :)

We tried out the "monkey leash"... Kohen hates that monkey. We think it made him even more wild... so the leash didn't make an appearance on our way home.

My parents, staring lovingly into each others eyes... yeah right, ha! I'm sure my dad said something stupid and mom was giving him the "whatever" look! lol!

Kohen was SUCH a trooper!

I don't know how many times my dad yelled "Go Cardinals" while we were in the Chicago airport.... so Jason decided to buy him this candy bar :) My Dad HATES the Cubs.... This dang candy bar kept showing up.... Mom would hide it somewhere in our room so we would find it and then Jason would return the favor and hide it in theirs. I think it was in shoes, beds, wallets, camera case...not sure where else it showed up :)

Good Morning! Kohen loved the living room that connected all of our bedrooms.

Our pretty view. We stayed at the Residence Inn Manhattan/Times Square Hotel.

We've been to NYC lots of times so we've done all the touristy stuff, but this was Kohen's first time to go (2nd time if you include while he was in my belly, lol). So I couldn't pass up going to Toys R Us in Times Square.

Inside Toys R Us, Kohen met Jeffery the Giraffe...

The Toys R Us Ferris Wheel. I've always wanted to ride this but never had an excuse to ride! Kohen got to be our excuse this time!

We ate lunch at ESPN Zone. We are so sad that it's going out of business next week :(

This band was about to play in the middle of Times Square... it's a Nickelodeon band called "Big Time Rush"... Unless your kids watch Nickelodeon, you probably don't know who they are :)

Ok....now for the highlight of MY trip!!!! I was determined to see two of my favorite places that I always see on TV. I am in LOVE with the TV show Project Runway. Well, guess what all you PR fans...I got to see Parsons and I went to Mood!!! YAY!!!

I can not even put into words how happy I was to go to Mood. It's a designer fabric store that is always featured on Project Runway. I walked in and felt like I already knew my way around! The people working there saw how excited I was and said "you must watch Project Runway"! Hehe... I don't think I stopped giggling the whole time. Poor Jason had to hear ALL about the things I recognized from the show :)

The embellishment wall!!! How exciting!!!

And here I am acting like a contestant on the show... running to grab fabric and pulling it out as fast as I can!!! (Yes, people were watching) :)

The Mood dog "Swatch"!!! I couldn't believe he was there too!
It was so much fun. I didn't want to leave Mood, but they were closing so I had too. :(
"Thank You Mood"- Tim Gunn :)
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Bryant Park was right outside our hotel... this is where New York Fashion Week is held and this is where all the contestants on Project Runway are trying to show their line! Yay for Bryant Park too!

This picture below makes me tired... It makes me tired because we rode the Subway SO many times...and each time we rode, Jason and I had to CARRY Kohen's stroller (while Kohen was still in it) up and down and up and down and up and down a million flights of stairs while busy New Yorkers were trying to get around us.

This is the sweet face we woke up to every morning :) We had a two bedroom suite for my parents and us but we put Kohen's crib right beside our bed. The first night he hardly slept at all but the nights after that he did great.

Kohen and Poppy, or I guess I should say "Pop-Pop". Mimi was so sad that Kohen wouldn't say her name.

This picture below is for Terri and Jill! My dad saw this place and we laughed about how it reminded us of "Bill Fowler" :) I told Jason to take a picture so I could show yall!

Do you see that crazy man in the red shirt...oh, wait...that's my dad...

I didn't realize that Jason took a picture of this but I'm glad he did. Look below at all of the workers... They gathered around Kohen because he was putting on a show for them! He was laughing SOOO hard at all these girls! It was almost to the point of embarrassment because of how hard he was laughing! I guess he's a little flirt :)

I love this picture. Kohen wanted to hold Pop Pop's hand while he strolled...

This picture makes me laugh. Yes, that's my dad giving Sponge Bob "knucks"... And that's me looking completely embarrassed...

This was my 3rd time to visit Ground Zero... this is one thing that gets me every time. It's SO hard seeing this....

FAO Schwarz

Kohen's stroller now has teeth marks from this NYPD horse :) I guess he tasted Kohen's leftovers on the tray! Kohen, as you can see, loved the horse

Oh yeah, did I mention we met Johnny Depp???

We were so glad he let us take a picture with him....
....just kidding. This was outside of Madame Tussaude's Wax Museum in Times Square :)

And I'll end this post with a picture of my baby doing what he loves... playing with anything that has wheels :) If we heard "Beep-Beep" and "Choo-Choo" once, we heard it a million times this trip! We had such a great time with you Mom and Dad!!!

My new office overlooks where that "Big Time Rush" concert was. We were like "That better be Justin Beiber it's so noisy down there!"

Looks like fun! We are going to Atlantic City in the fall. I think it's less than two hours from New York City! I am very excited to go back! We are staying there for a week so I plan to go into the city for at least half of that time! LOL!
