Easter Pictures and Video

Happy Easter!!!  This morning we went to church with my Mom, Dad, Shelley, Max and Maddie.  It was a VERY rainy day.  After church we went to eat at Chilies and ran into my aunt and cousin!  We decided not to cook a big meal...instead we just made desserts.  This worked out well because we didn't have to clean the kitchen after lunch (and we had some fab desserts)!  We had to hunt Easter eggs inside since it was raining, but Max and Maddie didn't seem to mind!  Above is a picture of Kohen's very first Easter basket from the Easter Bunny :)  Don't miss the video at the end of this huge post!  Enjoy our Easter pics!

Shelley decided, since it was Easter, that Kohen HAD to put on Max's chicken outfit from when he was a baby!!!

I don't know if you can see the monogram...it's Kohen's initials

golfing with Mommy and Daddy

We decided around 6 tonight that we wanted to go out and play a few holes.  This was my first time to swing a golf club since before I was pregnant!  I actually did pretty good!  I think Jason and I both were surprised!  This was Kohen's second time to go golfing...he loved it.  Jason and I passed him back and forth so we could both play.  Kohen's favorite part, besides riding in the cart, was holding the flag so Daddy could putt!

Lovin' my life

Kohen and I were SO happy Thursday night when Jason told us his office was closed the next day for Good Friday!  We LOVED having Daddy home with us!  We spent the day playing and going shopping!  We went to the mall in LR where we got stopped by at least 4-5 shoppers telling us how cute and "healthy" our baby was :)  We ate at P.F. Changs that night.  Kohen was not a happy camper by this point.  He was SO sleepy and fussy.  Jason finally got him to sleep and we enjoyed a great dinner.  On our way back to Conway we stopped in Maumelle for a surprise visit to Mimi and Poppy.  They were busy watching the St. Louis Cardinals game but happy to see sweet baby Kohen!

I started feeding Kohen stage 1 baby food last week.  The doctor told us to start him around 5 1/2 months on baby food and to start with the orange foods first.  We started with sweet potatoes (he loves it!).  He's had sweet potatoes for about 5 days now.  I added a fruit to his meal yesterday (bananas).  He wasn't too sure about that!  In the picture above is his first bite of bananas!  We plan on doing carrots next (gross).  Hopefully he won't take after Jason and I and hate carrots!

Sitting in the buggy

Today was Kohen's first time to sit in the grocery cart without his car seat!  He LOVED it!  I had to put blankets on each side so it would make him a little more sturdy.  Shelley has been telling me to do this FOREVER but I just thought he was too little.  I was wrong, Shelley was right...there, I said it ;)  It was so nice to shop leisurely instead of making a mad dash before he got fed up with the car seat (he HATES his car seat).  Trips to the grocery store and wal-mart completely stress me out b/c I'm always so scared he'll throw a fit and I'll end up holding him while pushing a buggy with an empty car seat in it.  But that has all changed now!  What a great trip to the grocery store- Oh and by the way, he's taking his morning nap right now- woo hoo!  I have the best baby EVER!!!

Waiting for Daddy to come home

It was just another ordinary day at the Smith house today.  Kohen has FINALLY started taking consistent naps.  He usually wakes up between 7:30-8:30a.m.  We get up and open the blinds together every morning.  We count each blind we open and make a pretty big deal about the sunshine coming through :)  I change his diaper and put him in his jumping gym thing.  After about 15 minutes of intense playing he's ready to be held.  We walk around talking about different things, check my email/facebook (with Kohen pounding on the computer), walk around some more, talk to the kitties, and play in his room.  Around 10:00 he starts to get pretty cranky and wants to eat.  He goes down for his morning nap between 10-11am.  Kohen's naps last anywhere from 20 minutes - 1 hr. 15 min.  Lately they have been around 45 minutes long.  When he wakes up it's time for Daddy to be home for lunch!!!!!!!!!  We both get really excited when we hear the garage door going up!
Kohen's afternoon's are pretty much a replay of his mornings.  He goes down for his afternoon nap between 2-3pm.  Jason usually gets home around 5:30pm.  Today I thought I would take some pictures of Kohen waiting on Daddy to get home!

Just incase you're wondering....Kohen gets his chubby checks from his daddy!  Although he definitely has my chin!!!

Kohen has started sitting, I use this term loosely, up.  He can sit up for about 5 seconds before he topples over or folds in half!
He's getting his golf clubs ready for Daddy!

A Night at the Bucks

Thursday night Jason, Kohen and I headed to Bryant to stay the night with my sister and her family.  Jason had a dental conference in Hot Springs on Thursday and Friday.  When we got there, Max and Maddie were so excited to see us (well....Kohen!).  They had set up the living room with all kinds of "baby" stuff for Kohen to play with!  We had such a great time with the Bucks- Shelley made homemade chicken-n-dumplings for dinner (and brownies, yum), we watched the famous Max and Maddie video, and on Friday M & M went to school while Shelley, Kohen and I went shopping in Little Rock.
This is a jumper the kids had set up for Kohen to play with!

Maddie is showing Kohen her stuffed Bee.  I wonder how many times I heard Maddie say, "Stetie, can I hold Baby Kohen???????"  :)  Hopefully Maddie-Boo will want to hold her new baby sister/brother as much as she wants to hold Kohen!!!

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!!!!!  Kohen always has his feet in his mouth, so I asked Maddie if she could do it too.....

Easter Bunny

Kohen had his picture made with the Easter Bunny.  The picture above was taken with my phone, so it's not very clear.  We did pay to have his picture made and even bought the package that came with a disk so we could emial it and stuff but I can't find it anywhere!  I'll post it later if I come across it...Kohen was very nonchalant about the whole Easter Bunny experience.  He probably could have taken a nap in the EB's lap!  I guess next year is when he'll scream and cry and be scared to death!
