New Highchair

I've been wondering when we should buy Kohen a highchair.  He's eating cereal everyday and loves it (now).  I've been doing a little research trying to find the perfect highchair (I think my husband is rubbing off on me as far as researching before I buy!).  I came across the Graco "Blossom" 4-in-1 seating system.  It starts as a highchair, then turns into an infant feeding booster, then a toddler booster, and finally a youth chair.  I know all that "sounds" good but I wanted to learn more.  I went online and actually found a video of all the transformations and I loved it!  So yesterday we headed to Babies R Us and bought it!  We got home and Jason put it together.  We put Kohen in it and he ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!  He would not stop smiling!!!  We got such a kick out of watching him :)  He loves the cup holder and other ridges on the tray.  I haven't actually fed him in it yet b/c it was so late when we got home last night.  Hopefully today he will have his first meal in his new highchair!

Loving the cup holder!

Below are some pictures I took yesterday morning.  I love waking up to Kohen "playing" instead of crying in his crib.  He's still sleeping in the small crib in our bedroom.  Lately I've been trying to get him used to his big crib in his bedroom so we can one day :) make the transition.  Isn't my little boy so cute?!  Or like Mimi likes to say "He's so PRETTY!!!"

Capers + Golf

Today Kohen & I met my aunts, Connie & Christie, my cousin, Melanie and my mom and sister in Little Rock to eat at Capers for lunch.  It was such a pretty day, so we sat outside.  Connie and Kohen are in the picture above.

When Jason got home from work, we took Kohen out on the golf cart for the first time!  He LOVED it!!!  I had a hard time holding him still at first because he was wanting to look EVERYWHERE!  It was so nice to be able to do something outside instead of our normal inside routine.  We ran into three of Jason's buddies on the golf course and they were excited to see Kohen with us.  We even stopped by Dr. Leo's house to visit him and Lynne (they were outside doing yard work).

Kohen was really excited to hold the flag stick.  He REALLY wanted to eat it!

I had to take a picture of this.  This picture basically sums up Jason's life!!! HA!

Kohen fell asleep on the back 9.  I loved holding my sleeping baby & cruising in the golf cart on a warm spring day :)

Toothbrush + Weekend in Fordyce

Dr. Hambuchen and his wife, Donna, gave Kohen this silver toothbrush.  It's so cute!  It even has a "K" engraved on it!

This weekend we went to Fordyce to visit Jason's parents.  This picture was taken at church.  Kohen and Julianne were both blessed this weekend!

4 (and a half) month check up

We had our 4 (and a half) month check-up today.  We always make our appointments on Friday afternoons so Jason can go too.  Dr. Baker doesn't always work on Friday afternoons so this is why we didn't go when Kohen was exactly 4 months old...  I've been really excited about this appointment for some reason, I guess I just like to hear that my baby is doing good.  We went to see Dr. Karen Baker (the BEST) at 2:30ish today with a list of questions.  She is such a great doctor.  She spends SOOOO much time with us and really puts [my mind] at ease.  Today Kohen weighed 17 lbs. 4 oz....I was amazed to see this was in the 50-75% range.  I guess I have heard from soooooooooooooooooooooooo many people that he is so "fat", "butterball", and "FLUFFY"  yes...a lady told me my baby was fluffy....so I thought he must be way over-weight, but she said his weight is just fine.  It must be the cheeks that throw everyone off :)  All I know is that he gets this "fluffyness" from his daddy!  Jason was a CHUNK when he was a baby!  I was very, very tiny.  In fact, I was needing surgery very young, but had to wait until I weighed at least 20lbs before they would operate...I didn't weigh 20 lbs until I was 18 months old.  Kohen is 4 1/2 months and already weighs 17.4!!!  That's okay, I'm lovin' havin' a healthy baby!!!  He also measured 25.5" which is also in the 50-75% range.  (his head was 17").  We found out today that Kohen has a lateral birth mark on the back of his leg.  We noticed it when he was about 2 months old and didn't know what it was.  We thought it would go away, but it never has...I love his little birth mark, I think it's cute :)  Another concern we've had since the day he was born was his toes...The first time we saw Dr. Baker, we showed her our concern about his toes.  His second toe (on both feet) completely overlaps his third toe.  (If you look at his pictures at the very top of the page, you can tell that his toes are, I like to call it "ganked" up.  It looks like he only has 4 toes on each foot).  She told us each visit that she thought it would fix itself and he would be fine...today was different.  Today she re-examined his toes and told us it was NOT going to fix itself on its own.  He would (possibly) need surgery.  Jason and I totally are on opposite pages as far as his toes are concerned.  I tend to be more positive about the situation and think "there's no way my baby is going to need surgery" and Jason is leaning more towards surgery.   He said his baby boy WILL be playing sports and therefore needs his toes fixed!  I don't know...I am just still hoping that once Kohen walks, it will not be a problem...Overall, if the only thing that's wrong with my sweet baby is his toes...I'll take it :)  Dr. Baker said he is doing great, eating great, sleeping great, overall...great :)

Visiting Daddy at Work

Yesterday Kohen and I went to Jason's office for a visit.  Kohen likes to flirt with all the girls there and LOVES to see his Uncle Leo!  (Dr. Leo likes to call him KP :)  Samantha is Jason's assistant (Kohen loves her soooo much).  She even gave him a toothbrush!

Grocery Shopping

Today Kohen and I met Mom, Shelley and Maddie in Maumelle.  I took this picture in Kroger.  Kohen slept almost the whole time.  I'm always so scared he's going to throw a fit in a public place!  It's been so nice since Mom and Dad live in Maumelle now.  I get to see them a lot more.  It's been good for Shelley too since Maumelle is between Bryant and Conway, we just meet in the middle!
Kohen is almost as big as Maddie!

Pee, Throw up and Tootsies

For all of you who have baby girls....you're really missing out when it comes to diaper changing...  Today I just wasn't fast enough getting the clean diaper on Kohen before he peed all over himself, including his face & ears, it even got on his back???AND it got on me!!!  To make a bad situation worse, he continued to throw up on himself too.  I don't know if you can tell by the picture, but the wet spots are pee (even up around his neck) and the white on his shirt and mouth is throw up.  Fun day ahead.... :)

On a lighter note, Kohen has found his tootsies!!!  His feet are his favorite toy now.  He's always sucking on them or holding them- it's adorable!

My baby is getting so long!  We go to the doctor next Friday- I can't wait to find out his stats.

confused

Kohen usually takes VERY short naps throughout the day.  He will eat, play, nap....eat, play, nap.  He naps range anywhere from 5-20 minutes.  Today has been different.  He slept all night long, woke up at 7:30ish this morning and we did our usual routine.  Around 10:15 a.m. I gave him a little cereal and 4oz. of formula.  He went to sleep around 10:30a.m.  He didn't wake up until NOON.  He slept over 1.5 hours.  I thought wow!  I can't believe he slept that long.  When he woke up we played, I gave him a bath, he ate about 5oz. of formula.  I was holding him upright walking around picking up when I noticed he had fallen asleep AGAIN (this time on my shoulder) .  He was completely out like he was this morning (this morning I was bouncing him on my knee and I noticed his head droop over and he was conked  out).  I usually have to walk with him and snuggle him to get him to sleep.  I'm freaking out a little.  I keep going to check on him to make sure he's breathing!  Did any of your kids go though this change of sleep pattern???  Who knows, it may only be for this one day.  I know I should be thankful, but I can't help but be worried!  Seriously, let me know what you think!!!!

Kohen's First Putter

This is Kohen's first "Scotty Cameron" putter!  If you look closely, you can see Kohen's name on it.  Jason had this customized for Kohen.  In case you don't know, Jason is a Scotty Cameron fanatic.  He has been a collector of these premium putters for about 5 years now.  He went on a trip to a Scotty Cameron convention when I was pregnant and came home with an autographed head cover that read, "To Kohen, It's a Boy! Welcome!- Scotty Cameron".  Jason is so proud of Kohen's putter and can't wait for the day he can use it.  I sure hope Kohen likes golf!!!

Maddie-Boo

Yesterday Shelley, Adam, Max and Maddie came to Conway because Adam had a "doctor appointment" :)... so I watched ALL THREE kids (Max, Maddie and Kohen) while they were gone.
While I was busy helping Max find a game he wanted to play on the Wii, I could hear Maddie playing with Kohen behind me.  It didn't feel like I had my eyes off of Kohen and Maddie for long, but when I turned around, I couldn't believe what I saw!  Maddie had stacked just about every toy Kohen had in his toy box on top of him!!!  It took my breath away at first sight, but I saw he was fine and I busted out laughing, it was hilarious!  I had to take a picture!
I love you Maddie-Boo!

Tummy to Back

Kohen rolled over from tummy to back yesterday!!! I put him in our bed while I got dressed and decided I would put him on his tummy for a few minutes. I noticed he was holding his head up better than ever and it crossed my mind that he may be able to roll over now. I stood on the other side of my bed and called his name...sure enough he rolled over!!! I couldn't believe it! I ran to get my cell to call Jason. Luckily the video camera was right beside my phone. I grabbed it and pressed record. I caught on tape Kohen rolling over his second time ever (and 3rd, but it wouldn't let me post that long of a video). Just in case you couldn't tell from the video, I'm SO proud of my baby!

babysitting

Matthew, Christie, Kohen and Natalie

Today was Kohen's first time to be away from Jason and I.  Christie and Natalie (my aunt & cousin) called yesterday and offered to babysit Kohen today while Jason and I moved some of our stuff to the new house.  I was all about it...at first....  I was fine last night after I got off the phone with Christie, but this morning was a different story.  I cried, big time, this morning.  I know Kohen was wondering why in the world his mommy kept crying and having to blow her nose.  I just felt so bad and was so nervous to leave him.  I called my mom and told her how I was feeling.  I cried on the phone with her too.  She told me about her experience with the first time she let her sisters babysit Shelley and she cried like a baby when they left.
When Jason came home for lunch I told him that I was having a really hard time about the whole babysitting thing.  He told me everything would be fine and its not like we were leaving Kohen with strangers!  I felt better after our conversation and thought I would be okay.  Christie called around 5pm and told me she was ready for Kohen and promised she would watch him every minute he was with Natalie.  I told her I had been having issues about leaving him and she told me if I changed my mind that would be okay.  I told her I couldn't change my mind because we HAD to move the big things from our old house.  I loaded Kohen up and headed 2.5 miles to her house...  When I got there I could feel the tears start coming as I was taking the car seat out of the car.  I went in and there the tears came.  I took Kohen out of his car seat and handed him to Christie.  She said "Stephanie, I've had two kids AND I'm a doctor...Kohen is going to be okay!".  That made me laugh and it was the perfect thing to tell me because it finally hit me that YES, he WILL be okay.  I gave a few instructions and kissed him goodbye.  I left my camera there just in case he did something cute while I was gone!  Jason and I moved like crazy people for about two hours and then we went to pick Kohen up.  I thought he was going to be so excited to see me when we got there but he was pretty mellow and like whatever when he saw me.  Christie said he was great and didn't cry once.  She said Natalie had a great time with him and took good care of him too.  I was so excited to see the pictures they took when I got home.  It made me teary to see how sweet Christie and Natalie were to my baby :)  I can tell from the pictures that he had a great time and loves his aunt and cousins :)
