Best Christmas EVER!

Just wanted to share this with you....  I wrote it two days ago....

"It is 4:56 a.m. on Christmas morning...  I heard Kohen crying over the monitor so I got up to check on him.   I walked quietly through the living room where Scott and Kristin were sleeping (and where Santa had definitely come to visit). I opened Kohen's door and could see through his window that we left the Christmas lights on all night.  His head was too close to the railing of his bed so I scooted him back and he fell right back to sleep.  I walked back to my bathroom to pee.  I grabbed a pregnancy test.  It was the second test in a box of two.  I took the first test two days ago.  It said "NO".  After I took the test I carried it and placed it on my nightstand.  I crawled back into bed. My feet were freezing.  I put my freezing feet on Jason's legs.  I checked the pregnancy test and it showed a little clock.  I checked the monitor and saw my sweet baby boy sleeping.  I was glad I turned up his thermostat one degree after leaving his room.  My feet were warm by now.  It crossed my mind, "what if I really am pregnant?".  I layed there for a little while longer.  I grabbed my phone and pressed the button so that it would light up.  I put my phone over the pregnancy test.  It said "YES".  I covered my mouth with my hand.  I absolutely could not believe it.  I laid there not knowing what to do.  I wanted to wake Jason up SO bad and tell him.  I wanted to run through the whole house yelling it!  My whole family is at my house for Christmas!  How can I keep it a secret?  So, what did I do?....  I grabbed my lap top and am now in Jason's office blogging! LOL!  I have a baby in my belly!!!! HA!  Has it hit me yet????  I don't know....!  How am I going to tell everyone?  I think I might put the pregnancy test in Jason's stocking....  I'm SO excited to tell him!  Oh my goodness.... How do I tell my sweet 26 month old that his mommy is going to have a brother or sister????  I just can't believe it!
Ok... I HAVE to try and get a little more sleep before all the kiddos wake up and want to see what Santa brought them...  This is the BEST Christmas ever!"

Bath, Toddler Bed and Christmas Tour

Every night I get to take a nice hot bath and read a book.  It's my time to relax and get away...  Well, last night I had a little visitor follow me into the bathroom and I didn't have the heart to tell him to go back into the living room.  So, I had a luke warm bath with Lightning McQueen and my favorite little 2 year old :)  Oh, and, you are VERY welcome for me cropping myself out of this picture! LOL!

Last night we converted Kohen's baby crib into a toddler bed!  The main reason we decided to do this is because he has climbed out of his crib several times and hurt himself.  He missed his nap and was EXTRA tired, so I thought that would also help with him going to sleep in his new bed and not wanting to get out and play.

Here's the last look at his baby crib :(
I haven't let myself get sad about it (yet)...  Every time I think about being sad, I try and push it out of my mind.  That's what I have to do every time I put away clothes he's outgrown.  I just. can't. think. about. it.

Daddy and Kohen working on the big boy bed

Of course Kohen immediately found another use for the packaging....  a train track!

Such a good Daddy :)

Helping Daddy...hammer???...

And TA-DA!  Here is Kohen's new Toddler Bed!!!  He loves it!!!

Every time I would say "Kohen, let's take a picture, say CHEESE!"  He would get down and stand in front of his Christmas tree! HA!  I guess he got use to me saying that the night we were trying to take Christmas card pictures in front of the tree!

Back in his bed....

And now for his new sheets and blanket- TOY STORY!!!  He kept saying "Buzz!  Woody!".

Kohen slept through the night.  The next morning I just knew I would wake up to him playing with the toys in his room.  I checked the monitor the next morning and he was standing up in his bed yelling "MOMMA!".  Just like he did in his crib.  I watched him on the video monitor for a long time and he would not step foot out of his bed!  I finally went in there and he reached for me to pick him up.  When it was nap time later that day, he went right down and fell asleep.  No getting out to play!  We'll see how long this lasts!  My favorite thing about this bed (and I seriously think this is why I'm not just crying my eyes out about him moving to a big boy bed) is now I can kiss him good night while he's laying down in his bed!  Before, I was too short to reach over his crib and kiss him :)  I think I went in and checked on him (and kissed him) about 3 times before I went to bed last night :)

If you follow the blog "Kelly's Korner" then you already know about her Christmas Tour of Homes.  I decided to join in and post some of our Christmas decor...

Our Mantle

I painted the plate in the middle and the one on the right.  I miss my sister owning her own Paint Your Own Pottery store :(

Our Elf on a Shelf.  His name is Charlie (named after Jason's childhood Elf he had).  We'll say to Kohen "Where's Charlie?".  Kohen looooooks around the room until he spots him and yells "There he is!!!!".

This is an ornament I painted

Our Christmas tree.  My friends think it's crazy that I don't like any two ornaments to be the same :)

I love these lighted presents sitting on our entry table.  I stole the idea from Jason's mom and had to get me some too!

Jason's little dentist/golf/razorback tree in his home office...

Kitchen decor...

The little snowman painted on the plate is Kohen's (upside down) footprint form the year he was born :)

Horrible picture, but it's hard taking pictures of Christmas lights!  This is some of our lights in our backyard...

2010 Christmas Card

No elaborate Christmas cards for us this year.  I think I'm still horrified by what happened last year....  Although the cards last year turned out BEAUTIFUL, I just didn't have it in me this year to go through the same stress at the photography place.  So, we decided to do an at-home photo shoot.  Here are some of the pictures that did not make the card!  LOL!

Our attempt to get the perfect picture of Kohen :)

Here is the one we ended up with!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Thanksgiving 2010

We hosted Thanksgiving this year for Jason's side of the family at our house!  This is the first time in 30 years I have not traveled somewhere for Thanksgiving.  Growing up we would always go to my grandparents house.  When I got married we would always go to Jason's parents house.  I have to say that when I first found out we were having Thanksgiving at our house I got a little stressed out!  Thoughts of my mother-in-law having to cook in my kitchen freaked me out a little! HA!  So I went to Target and bought all new dish towels, oven mitts and serving utensils!!!  One of my main worries was her discovering my very unorganized Tupperware cabinet!  (by the way, it's organized now :)
We had 22 people at our house.   I have to say that it went VERY well and I would be more than happy to have them ALL back next year!  Jeanie, I'll buy new pots and pans next year! HA! :)

AnnaGrace and Lauren (the BEST babysitter EVER!)

Christian and Jenna (I don't think Jenna let Peyton go the whole time she was there! Peyton got to be wrapped in blankets, rode in a wagon and was made to sit in an Easter basket, HA!)

Katelyn and Julianne

Samantha and Sydney

Tim
(Kohen LOVED Tim)

Jake (Jake babysat Kohen while we went to the Razorback game this past Saturday!  Thanks Jake!)

Time to eat!

I'm thankful for this sweet boy...

TONS of food!!!

FAMILY

After everyone left, I prepared myself to do some Black Friday shopping!  I met my mom, sister, sis-in-law and Caron in Maumelle to go to the WalMart doorbuster sale at midnight.  We got there two hours early and sat by some big ticket items until we were able to load them in our baskets at 12am.  It was PACKED!  I decided that I was SO tired (plus I was pretty much done with getting all of my gifts bought earlier that week) so I went home after only one store.  I called my sister the next morning at 10am and she was STILL shopping!!!  She shopped all night long!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
