After being in labor for about 24 hours, having 2 epidurals (because the first one didn't work), not being able to deliver naturally, having 2 spinal epidurals (because the first one of those didn't work either), feeling the pressure of being cut VERTICALLY from my belly button all the way down (TMI, I know), completely FREAKING OUT on the operating table because I thought I couldn't breathe, to being so claustrophobic from my arms being strapped down and a huge curtain draped 2 inches from my face.... I hear Dr. Cole say "Here's your baby!" Here it was, the moment I had been waiting for for 40+ weeks...I was about to finally see my baby's face.... and for the split second Dr. Cole held my baby above the curtain for me to see him, this is the only thing I saw....
His feet!!! I yelled out "Wait!!! I didn't get to see him!!!" It was too late. The nurses had already started to clean him up (I couldn't see Kohen, but I could hear him). As Dr. Cole did his miracle work (he had to go through a huge old scar to get Kohen and remove tons of scar tissue from my 2002 surgery) Jason finally brought Kohen to me. I remember saying "Hi Baby!". After that moment, I hardly remember anything!
Kohen has been everything I ever wanted in a son. Jason and I always tell each other that we are the luckiest parents in the world! We can't wait until Saturday when we have his first birthday party!!! I'll post more tomorrow about his day today, but for now, I'll leave you with this picture of my sweet baby boy that is now a 1 year old :)
